(“BMS Cat”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Head to the position of President.  Tom comes into this position having led BMS Cat’s affiliates, Blackmon Mooring, as President for the past three years.  He joined Blackmon Mooring in 2004 as General Manager in the Houston, Texas operation, having spent 15 years prior to that in various management positions with Waste Management, Inc. 

Kirk Blackmon, who along with his two brothers owns BMS Cat and Blackmon Mooring, said, “We are very excited to have Tom taking the reins at BMS Cat.  He has demonstrated his leadership capabilities through his successes at Blackmon Mooring, and we know he will bring the same energy and success to BMS Cat.” 

Mr. Head will continue his role as President of Blackmon Mooring, in addition to his new duties at BMS Cat.  Over the past three years under his leadership, Blackmon Mooring has gone from eight locations to ten locations, adding facilities in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Atlanta, Georgia.  It is expected that Blackmon Mooring will continue to add locations to expand its geographic footprint.  Through this period, he has overseen solid development in each market, both in terms of sales and cost control, building on the premier status Blackmon Mooring has enjoyed over the years. 

“I am honored and humbled to work for BMS Cat and Blackmon Mooring,” Tom stated.  “It is exciting to work with such a strong team of individuals.  I look forward to the challenge of taking our industry-leading organizations and growing and expanding them further.” 

Mr. Head, who resides in Fort Worth, will office in the company’s headquarters at 303 Arthur Street in Fort Worth.  BMS Cat, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, is a global restoration company specializing in the restoration of commercial properties in response to large loss incidents.

Due to the recent earthquake in Chile, BMS CAT® has mobilized an assessment group that is currently in South America working their way toward the affected area. Because of the enormity of the damage and the wide area affected, access is currently limited. We will continue to monitor restrictions imposed by the Chilean government and take action accordingly.

Our responding team will make initial contact with the properties we have been notified of and additional properties as they are assigned. Upon completion of the assessment and authorization, resources, equipment and supplies will be mobilized to assist in the recovery of the affected structures and contents.

<![CDATA[BMS CAT Aviation Division Cleans Up After US Air Hudson Crash]]>

BMS CAT®’s aviation division, Global-BMS, is involved with the recovery of personal affects after transportation incidents (airline disasters, cruise ship clean up, rail incidents). One of the most visible projects has been the US Air Flight 1549 that landed in the Hudson River.  Global-BMS performed the recovery, clean up and then returned the property to the passengers (see articles from USA TodayCNNNew York TimesCW News videoFox News video and ABC News video).

Global-BMS works with commercial transportation companies, charter transportation companies, company-owned aircraft and shipping vehicles. The newest members of Global–BMS’s Priority Customers are universities who establish Priority Response Agreements in the event charter transportation for the school has an incident. 

BMS CAT has been doing emergency commercial restoration work since 1981 when a large hotel needed to be opened quickly to meet commitments. Instead of taking four months, as was originally projected by the competition, BMS CAT created a process and opened the hotel in 29 days. The human swine flu outbreak continues to grow in the United States and internationally. The acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared a public health emergency in the United States.
