Oil Spill Response White Paper

The purpose of this plan is to address the activities and issues generally encountered in an event concerning the release of petroleum based products (crude oil, processed oils, gasoline and diesel) in an aquatic environment and the resulting impacts on land and structures. This document will address various issues to be considered and methods and practices that may be implemented at a specific site to remediate a release depending on the physical make up and the ever changing environmental conditions. This document is not meant to include all potential scenarios and associated issues and procedures. It will address the most commonly encountered scenarios and options available to deal with properties
impacted with petroleum based products.
