For Immediate Release:

BMS CAT® Announces The Opening of Asia Pacific Operations in Singapore

BMS CAT® Corporate Headquarters in the U.S. announced today the official opening of their International Operation in Singapore to provide disaster recovery services in the Asia Pacific. BMS CAT® Asia Pacific opened for business on 1st August 2007 to provide disaster recovery services for commercial clients' property following severe fire, water, flood, and smoke damage.

"The strategic decision to expand corporate offices to the Asia Pacific market was determined by several key factors: one being our ability to service our multi-national clients," said Tim Draney, Executive Vice President. "Another is to change the perception of the role and abilities of a restoration service provider. The current perception of restoration primarily encompasses electronics recovery. A true full-service, restoration provider has the ability to restore as much of the damaged structure and contents as possible, and enable business resumption quickly. This is often the key factor in whether a company survives or fails," Tim said.

"Our commitment to the success of the Asia Pacific market is demonstrated in the placement of the key personnel," he said. "Mark Fischer and Roger Martin have a combined experience of over 50 years. Much of their experience has been gained with international recovery projects including many high profile disasters," Tim said. "These two individuals are highly-skilled and are considered experts in many fields of recovery services across multiple industries," he added.

The past decade has produced some of the largest catastrophic events in world history in terms of property loss and community-wide devastation. BMS CAT® has been performing global disaster recovery services for property structure and contents over 25 years. The company recognised the need to extend the availability of international facilities, equipment and skilled personnel to provide clients with faster recovery following a disaster. "Faster response means reduced business interruption for our clients," said Mark Fischer, Sr. Vice President with BMS CAT® Asia Pacific. "There are many U.S, manufacturing and national companies that have interests in foreign countries. While we have provided disaster recovery services in this region for many years, demand for service has increased to the point where permanent area facilities are required," Mark added.

BMS CAT® has pledged to offer a fully comprehensive service to their National Account clients and respond quickly on an international basis with the same sense of urgency as they apply in the United States. The key to the company's continued growth with these clients and new Asia Pacific clients is to commit to key strategic locations internationally.

When fire or water damage occurs, proper response of resources quickly is critical to a successful recovery and to prevent further damage. "We have been called on to provide recovery services for single commercial properties and for large community-wide disasters. Past events have given us the knowledge and experience needed to properly mobilise resources including personnel and equipment and to respond in a cost-effective manner," said Mark Fischer. "Our goal at BMS CAT® is always to reduce exposure to a given property loss by restoring as many items as possible and mitigate damages by reducing business interruption," he said.

Many businesses including universities, hospitals, hotels and manufacturers have built BMS CAT® recovery services into their Disaster and Business Continuity Plans through the National Accounts division of the company. The company has supported recovery efforts following many of the world's largest catastrophic events including the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001, Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Pentagon, Washington, 2001, European floods Prague 2002, Super Typhoon Pongsona Guam 2002, Bahamas and Florida - Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne 2004 and Hurricane Dennis, Katrina, Rita and Wilma in 2005.

Immediate steps are taken to mitigate property damage by implementing emergency preservation procedures for items that deteriorate quickly such as documents and electronics. "We can secure the affected property following an event, provide on site content cleaning or pack-out and storage services and provide structure drying and cleaning, all to get you back in operation as soon as possible", said Fischer.
